Finding Him
This is the current public version of the surreal exploration game Finding Him ^_^
Finding Him is a game I wanted to make for a long time before actually going through with it, because I have always enjoyed surrealism in games but never really had ideas for earlier projects where this theme would fit. During the first stages of creating Finding Him I actually created another project (which is entirely adult-based) called Daisy's Dream World. While Finding Him was pretty much the basis for that game, they are very different and Finding Him is more akin to the type of game I first envisioned. As for my inspiration regarding surrealism in games, my first experience with this was the World of Illusion game for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. Later I found myself enjoying all kinds of media which would sometimes be surreal and trippy (like for example the animated Beetlejuice series ^^). I've also really enjoyed other surreal games like for example the classic Yume Nikki, and other games like OneShot, Undertale, Strange Telephone, Dreaming Sarah, etc. And I'm always looking out for other games like these ^_^
I hope you like what's here so far, even if it's in its very early stages. I plan to have a new public update for this game released in December, so if you enjoyed it please check back here (or on the findinghimgame.com website) for further updates ^_^

have an issue at the very beginning. This error pops up and retrys are unsuccessful. even tried redownloading once. Im using the itch io app if that helps

I'm experiencing the same issue on the itch Windows app. This error occurs after moving to the right on the first screen of the game. Really interested in what you're going for here, looking forward to being able to play it!
Thanks for adding this! It appears there are issues with playing it with the Itch app, but I have no idea why...I tried to read Itch's "Integration guide" for the app, but it wasn't very helpful in figuring out the issue. I couldn't find anything that would point me in the direction of figuring out why it can be played fine on the site but gives errors in the app...
I think the issue might be that the filepath has an escape character in it (the dollar sign, %24), and while that will work in the browser (the browser needs to escape it, in fact), it may not work with the desktop file manager. This is why I think it works fine in the web version but not in the desktop app.
Thanks, that's most likely the problem. It doesn't seem like Itch has an alternative to turn off app downloads, so I'll try to figure out a workaround for this...in the meantime I'll just have to let people know the app version will give an error ^.^;
can you even get past 3 puzzle pieces in the current version
No, in this version you can only collect 3 puzzle pieces (1 in the forest area with the pond monster, 1 in the Cock-A-Too Pub, and 1 in the pirate bottle). In the next public update which will be released next month, there will be several more areas ^_^
Does or will this have any futa?
It doesn't at the moment, but there will be several other adult scenes which will have a variation of themes, including some futa scenes ^_^
